Had a great time at Hideaway lake with my son Adam. Steve and Elaine were great hosts, along with Jake and Harry.

The head bailiff Dillon is not to be messed with, but I found his soft spots (sausage rolls and cheese biscuits)

It’s been a tough year for Steve and Elaine in regard to Covid 19 but they are made of strong stuff and are determined to get through it. The boys were great and we all had a good laugh together every day.

It’s a great fishery with some stunning fish and great hosts, looking forward to returning again next year. It’s not just about the catching it’s more about the atmosphere and surroundings which make it a special place.

One last thing to mention (The crumble is to die for) not that I ate much of it.)

If you are looking for something special then Hideaway is the place for you.

We’ve just got back from spending an amazing week at Hideaway Lake and we’ve had absolutely fantastic time, really didn’t want to leave. From the moment we got there, we fell in love with the place. It’s beautiful and so peaceful,a real hidden gem! Elaine and Steve are one of the most kind and helpful people we’ve ever met, superb hosts.Their son’s Jake and Harry are such a credit to them. They always made sure we were comfortable, always checked if we need anything, they were so polite and helpful and even help entertain the kids now and then lol and not forgetting the head bailiff Dylan (their dog)who’s great at locating the fish lol. The lake is stunning and you can see Steve,Elaine and the boys have worked hard to turn it into what it is today. The fish in the lake are in immaculate condition and there are some right crackers in there too. The food was homemade, fresh and delicious, 5star standard.Each meal was beautifully presented followed by a great selection of desserts which my daughter couldn’t get enough of. The pods are fantastic, beds very comfortable and Elaine and Steve thought about every detail. Toilets and shower are to a hotel standard, I’ve never been to a lake with such a clean toilets and shower.
We could have stayed another week easily, even our teenage boy has enjoyed himself and my 7 year old daughter cried on the way home, so safe to say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will be booking again for sure.

Just spent a fantastic couple of days at Hideaway Lake. Great fishing, accommodation and food. Owners gave us a great welcome and very helpful. Highly recommended it to everyone. Beat my PB last year and again this year, definitely be back again.

If you are looking for a fishing lake in France then look no further then the hideaway lake. This lake is stocked with some beautiful fish and I will now be making it a yearly tradition too go there. The owners are some of the best people I have met on a fishery Steve knows the lake like the back of his hand and will point you in the direction of any fish also a massive help when setting the rigs up. Elaine is also so helpful and kind making sure your huts are clean and your breakfast and tea it served too your peg with help from there boys. The food that these guys serve is all freshly cooked and all really tasty. I would just like too give there middle boy Jake a massive mention for all his help with is bait boat and running up and down the bank when we needed him he is a credit too the family and he is becoming a top fishers man. See you next year guys

Great day today at Hideaway Lake on our first, but definitely not our last visit. Warm welcome from the onset from Steve and Elaine who cannot do enough to make you feel at home. Along with their boys, who are a credit to them, you get great advice, great facilities, great fishing and a great experience. This is what a fishing trip should be like, whether fishing for the week or day ticket, novice or expert alike. Broke my PB too! Would highly recommend!

What a place fished only 6 hours a day 3 days 9 fish 8 banked in feb in worst weathers pos but with Steve guiding u and the best dinners around to warm u and a real nice cabin to rest in u can’t beat the place I’ve eaten in restaurants and they beat it fished places they beat it TRY IT U WONT REGRET IT OR FORGET IT !!

There places then there’s our new FAMILY FRIENDS AND BEST FISHING EVER !!!

I’ve just had the pleasure of a week’s fishing at Hideaway Lakes, owned and managed by Steve, Elaine and their three sons Spencer, Jake and Harry – all willing to go that extra mile to make sure your stay is one you won’t forget. From the moment you arrive the family make you feel welcome and at home and I knew within the first few hours that I was going to enjoy this holiday.

The accommodation, the food, the fishing and the company of the family (Dillon included) can only be described as first rate. I struggled at first – losing a few fish – but Steve soon changed that with advice and help on a change of rig and adjustment to reel settings which led to every run resulting in a fish.

Work in progress on the lake includes the construction of three fishing pods and when these are finished Hideaway Lakes is en route to be an outstanding venue. If I was to book another fishing holiday in France it would be here. Arrive as a guest leave as a friend.

Great little hidden gem...stopped off here for a night while on the way to a social. Owners where very helpful and catered for unhourly needs lol managed 2 immaculate fish in the very few hours we where there. The cabins are immaculate and with coffee and tea facilities saves dragging the cookers out. I will without a doubt be returning to this little gem and would highly recommend it to anyone!! Most polite owners and family (a rare thing in the uk now)...will see you some time next year

Well what can I say? Just finished a fantastic week at Hideaway on a lake exclusive and it didn’t disappoint! 45 fish landed between 4 anglers, carp up to 28lb, cats to over 30 and 4 appearances of Casper the sturgeon upto 34lb! The breakfast rolls and evening meals were amazing and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts, fishing and accommodation! I personally came away with 2 PBs and I think we may be back next year! We even had a great evening at the local pub for the England match with Trevor! Thanks to you both it was amazing!

Fantastic visit to Hideaway for a couple of days fishing. Everyone was very helpful and made us all feel very welcome. Couldn't have been nicer and gave lots of welcomed advise and tips. Husband beat his PB so very happy and will definitely return.

This fantastic little gem nestled away in the rural setting near lonlay l'anbbaye is going to be a fantastic venue to fish with carp to over the 30lb mark also catfish over the 30 lb and the ever friendly Casper the sturgeon who we caught at 20 lb, the fully equipped 4 berth caravan by the lake side is ideal if you wanted a bit more comfort for yourself or even your wife/partner/ children, ideal lake for first time anglers to France or experienced anglers alike, Trevor and Diane are perfect hosts and make you feel at home straight away and the breakfast baguettes they provide every morning delivered to the caravan are superb. Myself and my wife Jackie can't recommend this venue highly enough it is sublime,

My wife's first time fishing and she landed 27 fish to my 45 fish superb achievement with her having 5 carp over 20 lb and one mirror carp at 30lb, catfish of 31 lb and 20 lb Casper the sturgeon. I had several carp ranging from 14 lb up to 24.5 lb a catfish of 33.5 and Casper as well,

Totally loved this place and will definitely be returning next year,

best fishing experience. family owners were so friendly, accommodating and helpful. myself, partner and 4yr old daughter had a fantastic day. caught the 34lb sturgeon, but did not manage to land it. maybe next time. recommend to all. thank you for the great experience.

Brilliant little lake and lovely hosts. Although the fishing was a little up and down due to some quite bizzare weather we still enjoyed our stay. And when you catch Casper (which you will ) it will make your day. I cannot recommend hideaway lakes enough and the breakfast rolls are absolutely spot on. Thankyou Trevor and Diane for making our stay so good.

This lake offers more then just fishing. It offers great hospitality and help when required. Elaine, Steve and boys are always around to help when required. The lake is great for families and adults can fish with their children. Fishing is great with plenty of little fish and some decent sized ones too, one of our party caught a 26 & 29 pound carp. The early morning bap/roll is fab. There is even a fridge with drinks. if you cant judge your cast (like me getting stuck in a tree) there is even a boat that can place your hook and bate off (probably not the right technical term). Pods being build look great - bit of clamping. There is a bathroom with shower.

Three days fishing at Hideaway lake was everything my husband had hoped for. He beat his pb two times with a 26lb and then 29.6lb carp. He also caught a catfish for the first time weighing just over 10lb. The location was very peaceful and beautiful, ideal for a relaxing days fishing. The fish were caught on the bait I ordered from Steve at the lake. The fish are in brilliant condition and put up a good fight. The lake is well stocked and my son in law and his friend and my grandson also landed plenty of fish. Steve, Elaine and their boys were perfect hosts, very knowledgeable and always on hand to help when needed. I was told I must mention the amazing baguette filled with bacon, sausages and eggs. He is already looking forward to returning next year and hopes to land some of the bigger carp in the lake. He also wants to catch Casper the 39lb sturgeon.

Steve and Elaine were fantastic hosts making us very welcome at the lake. We had 2 days of fishing in very hot weather (37°C) and we were thankful for the shaded area under the umbrella. Although we lost a few big fish, the kids had a great time float fishing using rods provided by Steve and Elaine. We enjoyed the breakfast of sausage, bacon and egg baguettes and the kids had pancakes with their favourite Nutella spread (other chocolate spreads are available). The facilities are great, there's plenty of room for families with a newly built toilet and shower block if needed. Our 7yr old daughter had an epic battle with an unseen leviathan (10-15lb cat fish on 3lb float gear). Unfortunately not landing the beast of the unseen monster but enjoyed every moment of the experience. Steve and his sons are very busy building pods and developing g the grounds which look fantastic. We have previously visited the lake last summer and we can see how much they have worked clearing the lake and grounds with the lake being more accessible and a focus on providing facilities not just those fishing but also their families. We look forward to visiting again next year and seeing how much more they have achieved. Oh hang on we need to mention Dillan who is a very friendly dog and great with children. we went to Hideaway Lake this June for two weeks fishing.New lake for us so was a bit nervous. within minutes of getting there the hosts Steve and Elaine had got rid of all the nerves,made us feel at home from the very start. The lake is long and about 30 to 40 foot across and snag free,the fish are all in mint condition and range from upper 30's to high doubles and don't forget casper the sturgeon at 30lb .the grounds are spotless, we stayed in the shepherds hut ,this is new for this year and is very clean and comfortable and soundproof,pods are nearly ready (come on Steve )breakfast roll was fantastic fresh large and hot every morning. Steve and Elaine were fantastic hosts aways asking if we were ok and if there was anything that we needed from shops etc. Got to give Steve a big thank you for the help in the bait (what to use and were to put it) and the rig advice. Got to mention the bailiff Dylan,what a crackpot of a dog.we had a fantastic time at hideaway and would strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fishing.also we now class Steve and Elaine as good friends

Thanks to Steve, Elaine, Jake & "the jinx" ? for a great weeks fishing. 15 fish in total topped off with Casper the White Sturgeon, who didn't come off and we wont mention how it was hooked. We received a great welcome, food, advice and even helped landing and with some photo's. Highlight of the trip was to start off the stock pond with a common who I got to name. Thanks to Scar, the future of Hideaway Lake. Thanks for everything. Looking forward to returning.

WOW O WOW, What can I say?.
This was mine and my sons 1st ever Carp trip abroad so we didnt really know what to expect.
Hideaway Lake is just amazing, in fact it delivered exactly what we were looking for and more.
From the minute we arrived on the Monday to when we left on the Friday we felt like we were part of the family. Steve and Elaine's hospitality is on another level,
they looked after us like we were their own and the knowledge and things that Steve shared with us, to help us catch were priceless. Definately dont get that at other fisheries.
The setting is stunning, Tranquil, and relaxing and facilities are to 5* hotel standard. Lodges are snug and cozy, toilets and showers modern and clean.
Me and Joshua smashed our PB'S by a mile. We both cant wait to return for another Amazing week at this most beautiful well run fishery sometime in the very near future.
If you want big fish in mint condition, along with friendly, kind owners, who will look after you, along with the best facilities you'll ever get at a fishery, then I think you already know where you need to go.
Once again Steve and Elaine, thankyou so much for the best fishing experience ever, we are now friends for life, take care and see you very soon x

Having just moved to the area I booked a day at Hideaway Lake to check it out for a longer session in the future. I hadn't fished for a while but this setting is so calm and peaceful with the added bonus of tea and coffee making facilities ? I set up with my limited knowledge and equipment and settled down with a brew, Owners Steve and Elaine were so welcoming and the breakfast baguette was delicious ?. Steve is an experienced angler and took the time to help me with my set up but was never pushy. The weather before I arrived had been very heavy rain and I think this was the reason I blanked , but to be honest I enjoyed my time there so much that it didn't matter! iI will definitely be going back for another breakfast baguette and to catch some fish. Thanks Steve and Elaine for a lovely day. Hope to see you soon!

Well what can I say about this place except awesome we never caught a fish but that’s fishing a few things changed so much it was always against us but Steve and jake came down to help us out they spent so much time with us it just wasn’t to be but it hasn’t put us off the lake is fantastic and well maintained the pods are perfect and have everything you need and if it wasn’t there within 5 minutes it was ? Steve Elaine and the boys are one of the most kind and welcoming people I’ve met in a long time nothing was to much trouble the food was amazing there’s a Mac Donald’s around the corner but we never even thought about going as Steve has it covered ? we even invited jake down for the day to show him the ways ? I’ve been to a few places now and this is by far the best one I’ve been to I’m gutted to be home already booked again if you are looking for a lovely lake with the best host’s and food and have a wife and kids then I’d look no further as you have just found the best lake in France ?? see you again soon Dan and dal ❤️❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a wicked week with Steve,Elaine and there 2 lads Jake and Harry and not forgetting Dillon there loverly dog had a great weeks fishing great service supplied great food cannot find fault with the trip whole family very welcoming and accommodating always checking we were good for anything we needed even had a trip out to there local shopping centre for supplies lol was a good laugh me and my pal are fussy eaters but they still kept us fed with ( superb )home cooked grub everyday I'd recommend this place to anyone I'll be back this winter for my birthday and can't wait already ??? see you soon guys take care !!!

Just had a amazing week at Hideaway Lakes.A massive thank you to Steve Elain Jake Harry and Willow the baliff for all there amazing hospitality and attention to detail. The food was amazing all freshly home cooked the breakfast Bap is a great way to start the day Dinner and pudding just superb think a couple of extra lb put on.The accommodation clean and comfortable tea coffe making facilities in all accommodation. The fishing was great started of the session with a PB 35lb carp and my brother following up with his PB 29lb 13oz a total of 7 fish 174lb.If your reading this review and thinking of a trip to France this location is very highly rated Already planning our next trip.Once again many thanks to you all

We stayed for a week and EVERYTHING about this wonderful fishery was magical. The fish are in excellent condition and well looked after, the cabins are comfy, clean and the beds were amazing.

Tea and coffee facilities in the cabin and anything you need is provided.
The views are stunning. Elaine, Steve and the boys are so polite and welcoming, we felt like members of the family. We enjoyed it that much we booked again for next yesr and we hadn't even left yet.
The toilets and shower facilities are out of this world and so clean. The food package is well worth it, Steve is a fantastic cook and we can't thank you enough for your hospitality. Thankyou for also catering for Briseis aswel and going out buying things that she eats, she had a wonderful time running around, playing with tadpoles and feeding the mice.
Dillon is a beautiful dog and is a great bailiff at barking at the bait boats ? xx
